Baseball Recap: Lake Takes a Loss

Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waynedale Golden Bears. The Blue Streaks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Anderson Alacchi made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lake's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Waynedale, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

Lake and Waynedale should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Blue Streaks (ranked 62nd) will meet Cloverleaf (ranked 307th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Waynedale will challenge St. Edward at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 115).
