Softball Game Preview: Highland Tech Rams vs. Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles

The Highland Tech Rams will challenge the Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Tech will aim to continue their six-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Highland Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Shelby on Friday as Highland Tech made off with a 25-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle Classical Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 18-13 victory over Community Christian Academy.

Evie Hawkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and seven unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Pinnacle Classical Academy got a massive performance out of Layla Boone, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Pinnacle Classical Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .583 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Highland Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Highland Tech might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Pinnacle Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Highland Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
