Basketball Recap: Westfield Takes a Loss

Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kinkaid Falcons.

Kinkaid's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maverick Curl-Okafor, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Curl-Okafor is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Maddox Davis, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Kinkaid, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Bend Clements at 7:00 p.m. on December 15. As for Kinkaid, they will square off against Village at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
