Two dominant guards in Evie Godfrey and Maliyah Birch are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders will challenge the Northwood Academy Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northside Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Laurence Manning Academy, posting a 74-41 win. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Northside Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Campbell Childers, who posted 23 points and five assists, and Godfrey, who scored 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Godfrey is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Northwood Academy against Cardinal Newman on Friday as the squad secured a 57-15 victory. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cardinals are ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwood Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Northside Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 23-2.
