Basketball Recap: Jules Lattea and Katie Grimm Secure Win for Tyler

Tyler won the last time they faced Magnolia and things went their way on Friday too. The Tyler Knights took down the Magnolia Blue Eagles 55-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Leading Tyler to victory were Katie Grimm and Jules Lattea. Grimm went 10 for 17 on her way to 25 points, while Lattea dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Those 25 points gave Grimm a new career-high. Taylor Donaldson was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Tyler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Tyler is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Magnolia, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Tyler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-61 win against Oak Glen on the 25th. Magnolia has also already played their next matchup, a 44-37 loss against Trinity Christian on the 25th.
