Basketball Recap: East Chambers Comes Up Short

East Chambers has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 63-56 to the Shepherd Pirates on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-59 last Thursday.

Shepherd found their leader in sophomore Brayden White, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 27 rebounds. White's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Joshua Stowe was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and five assists.

East Chambers' defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Shepherd, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

East Chambers will play host again on Monday to welcome O'Connell, where tip off is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. One thing working in East Chambers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 contests. As for Shepherd, they are on the road again on Monday to play Coldspring-Oakhurst at 1:30 p.m.
