Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Picks Up 16th Straight Win at Home

Mansfield had won 16 straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 41-1 to make it 17. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Weatherford Kangaroos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Mansfield was led to victory by Natalie Peak and Emery Thomson. Peak had 16 digs and three assists, while Thomson had ten assists and six digs. That's the most digs Peak has posted since back in September.

Mansfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matches.

As for Weatherford, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 21-13. While getting shut out isn't ideal, they haven't been shut out since back in August.

Several Kangaroos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Faught, who had 17 digs and one assist. Faught is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Keegan Hull was another key player, getting 14 assists and six digs.

Mansfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Mansfield Legacy on the 17th. As for Weatherford, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against North Crowley on the 17th.
