Baseball Recap: Pacific Grove Find Success

Pacific Grove posted their closest win since March 14th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Everett Alvarez Eagles, sneaking past 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Breakers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Rowen Meyer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pacific Grove is 3-1 when Meyer allows two or fewer hits, but 2-7 otherwise. Meyer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Lippert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Pacific Grove's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-8.

Pacific Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
