Softball Game Preview: Port Aransas Marlins vs. Refugio Bobcats

Port Aransas is 2-8 against Refugio since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marlins will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.

Port Aransas came up short against Agua Dulce on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Marlins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Refugio). Everything went their way against Yorktown on Tuesday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Laken Cancino, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Aubrey Brown was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Refugio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Port Aransas' defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Refugio, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
