Baseball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Alhambra Bulldogs

The Miramonte Matadors will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Alhambra Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Miramonte nor Alhambra posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Miramonte didn't have quite enough to beat Pittsburg and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Alhambra suffered their closest defeat since February 22, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Marin Catholic by a score of 3-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alhambra got a good showing from Cooper Nixdorff, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Alhambra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ismael Rivera Parra, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Miramonte's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alhambra, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Miramonte skirted past Alhambra 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does Miramonte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alhambra turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
