Basketball Recap: Sterling Takes a Loss

Sterling lost against Haddon Township back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sterling Silver Knights fell 38-25 to the Haddon Township Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Silver Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Hawks are ranked 37th).

When it comes to explaining why Sterling lost, don't look at Paris Logan. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks gave Logan a new career-high.

Haddon Township got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Wiedeman out in front who put up seven points along with seven boards and five steals. Samantha Martin was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Haddon Township, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Sterling didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-35 defeat against Clearview on the 12th. As for Haddon Township, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-22 victory against Audubon on the 13th.
