Softball Recap: Elysian Fields Takes a Loss

Elysian Fields managed to slip by Ore City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets lost 18-9 to the Ore City Rebels on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 16-15.

Madi Owens made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Avery Woodley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Elysian Fields' defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Ore City, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10-1.

Coming up, Elysian Fields will be playing at home against Union Grove at 5:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Ore City, they will head out to square off against Carlisle at 5:30 p.m. on March 18th.
