Volleyball Recap: Center Grove Extends Winning Streak to Five

Center Grove came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Scottsburg Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

One reason for the win was Center Grove's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-6.

Alex Vassar paced Center Grove's offense, picking up 13 kills. Vassar got some help from Silas Zathang and his 21 assists. Jadyn Mccrory controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Center Grove pushed their record up to 13-3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Scottsburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Center Grove will challenge rival Columbus East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Scottsburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Jeffersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
