California has gone a perfect 8-0 against Centralia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pintos will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. California is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
California lost 3-0 to Osage on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pintos have suffered against the Indians since October 27, 2020.
California was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Osage work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-20, 25-16.
Amelia Motley put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 17 digs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Centralia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Montgomery County 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Wildcats since October 25, 2021.
Centralia took Montgomery County into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 27-25, 15-25, 23-25, 15-9.
Centralia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-15-1 record this season. As for California, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8-4.
California beat Centralia 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Pintos repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
