Softball Game Preview: Neptune vs. Point Pleasant Boro Panthers

Neptune will face off against the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neptune has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Point Pleasant Boro will come in with four straight wins.

Neptune came up short against Red Bank Regional on Friday, falling 18-7.

Miah Quarles and Nora Weber stepped up to the plate in a big way. Quarles went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Weber went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Weber has hit this season. Megan Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, while Point Pleasant Boro put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Lakewood. The Panthers put the hurt on the Piners with a sharp 15-0 victory.

Point Pleasant Boro's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Neptune, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
