Kaylynn Howe posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. As a matter of fact, she produced her best game of the campaign: she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Howe and Plainfield Central will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Plainfield South at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats have some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since May of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
