Basketball Recap: Sayre Takes a Loss

If Sayre was feeling good fresh off their 83-48 takedown of Scott County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sayre Spartans came up short against the Frederick Douglass Broncos on Tuesday, falling 77-56. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Broncos are ranked third).

Sayre's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Frederick Douglass, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Sayre nor Frederick Douglass have any future games scheduled.
