Livingston Academy is a perfect 6-0 against Cumberland County since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Livingston Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Cumberland County Jets at 5:30 p.m. Cumberland County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Livingston Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Livingston Academy turned things around against Jackson County on Monday. Everything went their way against the Blue Devils as they made off with a 26-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Calla Pierce was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pierce was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bailey Hutchison was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Jozalyn Allen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Livingston Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson County only posted an OBP of .273.

Meanwhile, Cumberland County fell victim to DeKalb County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 16-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Jets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

The victory got Livingston Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Cumberland County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Livingston Academy took their win against Cumberland County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Livingston Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
