Softball Recap: Belton Drops Season-High Score on Ellison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belton). They never let the Ellison Eagles get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Hailey Schutz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Tara Stone was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Belton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Belton's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Ellison, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

As of now, neither Belton nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
