Volleyball Recap: Sydney Smith and Brinkley Wheat Secure Win for Pepperell

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Pepperell and Cass, and Pepperell kept the tradition alive. The Dragons came out on top against the Colonels by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Pepperell was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15.

Pepperell was led to victory by Brinkley Wheat and Sydney Smith. Wheat had four digs and two aces, while Smith had three aces and one assist. Those three aces gave Smith a new career-high.

The victory got Pepperell back to even at 3-3. As for Cass, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Pepperell will venture away from home to face off against Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cass, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Pickens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
