Baseball Recap: West Cabarrus Takes a Loss

West Cabarrus suffered their biggest defeat since March 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 9-1 to the Cox Mill Chargers. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

West Cabarrus got a good showing from Jordan Richards, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Richards has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, West Cabarrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Estevez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

West Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Cox Mill, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Cabarrus will square off against Cox Mill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cox Mill, they will venture away from home to face off against Butler at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cox Mill's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Butler's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
