New Hope dropped down to 11-11 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Caledonia Cavaliers by a score of 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Caledonia, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.

For Caledonia's part, Chandler Cobb looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cobb has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caledonia's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Dawkins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Looking ahead, New Hope will challenge West Point at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.95 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Caledonia, they will face off against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Commodores' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Cavaliers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
