Bridges Prep gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Whale Branch Warriors with a sharp 16-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Buccaneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Connor Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, James Williams was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Dylan Duncan, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.
Bridges Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whale Branch only posted an OBP of .438.
Bridges Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Coastal HomeSchool on the 13th. As for Whale Branch, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Jefferson Davis Academy on the 13th.
