Basketball Game Preview: Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians vs. Wesclin Warriors

Carlyle hasn't had much luck against Wesclin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians will take on the Wesclin Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Wesclin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carlyle, who comes in off a win.

Wesclin will be up against a hot Carlyle squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Carlyle managed a 45-40 victory over Chester on Tuesday. Given the Indians/Lady Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wesclin lost to Highland on the road by a 65-48 margin on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carlyle's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Wesclin, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Carlyle came up short against Wesclin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 61-51. Can Carlyle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
