Baseball Recap: Nacogdoches Comes Up Short

If Nacogdoches was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Pollok Central last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nacogdoches Dragons fell just short of the Rusk Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Dragons have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Nacogdoches saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Morones, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Ben Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Nacogdoches' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Rusk, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Nacogdoches has already played their next match, a 10-1 loss against Livingston on the 1st. As for Rusk, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 defeat against Tatum on the 1st.
