It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Muir had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Coastal Christian Conquerors by a score of 8-4. The win was nothing new for Muir as they're now sitting on four straight.
Gianna (GiGi) Butler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Butler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariel (Shorty) Flores, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and an RBI. Another player making a difference was Erica Wallace, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Muir's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-11. As for Coastal Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.
