Basketball Recap: Red Oak Has No Trouble Against Rowlett

It was a Battle of the Birds when Red Oak took on Rowlett on Friday. The Red Oak Hawks blew past the Rowlett Eagles 74-53. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Eagles are ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rowlett's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cadarian Urune, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jones, who posted eight points.

Red Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Rowlett, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Red Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-48 defeat against Lancaster on the 28th. As for Rowlett, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-47 loss against Crowley on the 28th.
