Basketball Preview: George Jenkins Eagles vs. Plant City Raiders
George Jenkins is 7-0 against the Raiders since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The George Jenkins Eagles will face off against the Plant City Raiders at 7:00 p.m. George Jenkins is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, George Jenkins humbled the Bloodhounds with a 52-14 victory. Given George Jenkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Bloodhounds are ranked 602nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marykate Benham was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Taleah Turner, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Plant City came up short against the Storm on Wednesday and fell 21-11. Plant City has not had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
George Jenkins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Plant City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.
Everything came up roses for George Jenkins against the Raiders in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 59-19 win. Does George Jenkins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
