Softball Recap: Central Wise Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

While Central Wise's victory against Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Bears 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since May 23, 2024.

Kaelyn Dales made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Dales was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Dales wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maci Gibson, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Adele Dingus was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Central Wise is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Central Wise will welcome John Battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union, they will square off against Gate City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
