Football Game Preview: Stillwater Pioneers vs. Grant Generals

Stillwater is a perfect 5-0 against Grant since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pioneers will host the Generals at 7:00 p.m. Stillwater's defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so Grant's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Stillwater's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-0 win over Eisenhower. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Stillwater found their leader in sophomore Jaedan Adams, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of David Thomas, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Stillwater's run defense was locked in: Eisenhower could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Jakoby Petree for the heroic effort on defense: he. Stillwater didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.9.

Stillwater's defense didn't let Amir Jiles, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Nehemiah Kolone with two. Kolone is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Petree was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Grant played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Southmoore and fell 57-8. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-0.

Stillwater's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Grant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Stillwater against Grant when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 65-0 win. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
