Soccer Game Preview: Sunnyside vs. San Joaquin Memorial

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sunnyside challenge the San Joaquin Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday... Sunnyside's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sunnyside is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against McLane on Monday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Sunnyside's goal came courtesy of David Ortiz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Joaquin Memorial). They came out on top against Chowchilla by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

San Joaquin Memorial's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8-1. Sunnyside's draw makes their record 12-3-1 this season.

Sunnyside took their win against San Joaquin Memorial in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 8-1. Will Sunnyside repeat their success, or does San Joaquin Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
