Soccer Recap: Denver South Takes a Loss

After soaring to six goals the game before, Denver South was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northfield Nighthawks. Denver South haven't had much luck with Northfield recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Denver South's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Northfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-0-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denver South will face off against Denver East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver South's defense better be ready for this one: Denver East have averaged an impressive 4.8 goals per game this season. As for Northfield, they will take on Denver North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver North will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Northfield surely won't give up without a fight.
