Softball Recap: Mclean Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

13 must be McLean's lucky number: they beat Wakefield School with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Highlanders beat the Fighting Owls by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

McLean pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Wakefield School, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLean will face off against Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakefield School, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Yorktown at 6:30 p.m.
