Baseball Recap: Thorsby Takes Down Lee-Scott Academy in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Thorsby rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Aiden Seeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Davenport was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Thorsby's win bumped their record up to 29-9-3. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they moved to 21-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Thorsby will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
