Football Game Preview: Pomeroy Pirates vs. St. John-Endicott Eagles

The Pomeroy Pirates will face off against the St. John-Endicott Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pomeroy has four straight victories, St. John-Endicott has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Pomeroy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Garfield-Palouse, who was ranked 11th at the time (Pomeroy was ranked ninth). The Pirates strolled past the Vikings with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 32-18.

Meanwhile, St. John-Endicott scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Tekoa-Rosalia, falling 58-32. The Eagles were down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

St. John-Endicott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pomeroy, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Pomeroy against St. John-Endicott when the teams last played back in September of 2015, as the team secured a 58-6 victory. In that contest, the Pirates amassed a halftime lead of 50-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
