The Highland Huskies are taking a road trip to face off against the Platte Valley Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

While Huskies fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. Everything went their way against Byers on Tuesday as Highland made off with a 23-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Sawyer Morgan was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Meanwhile, Platte Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Wiggins. The Broncos not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.

Hazen Weber made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Weber was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Flummerfelt, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Mason Hunt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
