The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats will square off against the Sidney Team at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bainbridge-Guilford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Bainbridge-Guilford came up short against Unatego and fell 4-1. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Kaiden Seymour was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sidney, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Walton 16-3 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Team in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Quinton Beckwith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Sidney got a big performance out of Riley Finch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was Finch's first of the season. Jaxen Swain was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Sidney's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Everything went Bainbridge-Guilford's way against Sidney in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Bainbridge-Guilford made off with a 14-4 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Team have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
