Preview: Treasure Coast Titans vs. Martin County Tigers
The Treasure Coast Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Martin County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Treasure Coast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Treasure Coast beat Melbourne 52-45. Given Treasure Coast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Melbourne is ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyson Wilson was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Bek Fleurissaint was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Martin County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Ribault by a score of 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Martin County has suffered yet this season.
Treasure Coast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Martin County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Treasure Coast ended up a good deal behind Martin County when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 53-39. Can Treasure Coast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
