Softball Recap: Kermit Takes a Loss

If Kermit was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Tornillo on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Jal Panthers by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday.

Azlene Valencia and Mary Valenzuela did some serious damage despite the final result: Valencia went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Valenzuela went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Valencia has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Urquidi, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1.

Looking ahead, Kermit will venture away from home to face off against Anthony at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jal, they will host Lordsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
