Softball Recap: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Demopolis Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sylacauga had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Demopolis Tigers as they made off with a 13-4 win. Sylacauga's victory was all the more impressive since Demopolis was averaging only 3.61 runs allowed on the season.

Daelyn Elson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Elson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Elson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

In other batting news, Sylacauga got a big performance out of Allison Terrell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Baylee Harwell, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Sylacauga's win bumped their record up to 15-16. As for Demopolis, they now have a losing record at 15-16.

As of now, neither Sylacauga nor Demopolis have any future games scheduled.
