Kennedy took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Gateway Olympians by a score of 3-1. The Commanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Olympians, too.
Kennedy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.
Alondra Gomez paced Kennedy's offense, picking up seven kills. Gomez got some help from Aspen MacDonnell and her 14 assists. Sheryl Goc controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
Kennedy will be playing at home against Harrison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gateway, they will head out on the road to take on Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
