Softball Recap: Timber Creek Regional Gets the Win

Timber Creek Regional won the last time they faced Deptford and things went their way on Thursday too. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Spartans 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Joselyn Bermudez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Timber Creek Regional's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Audrianna Esquilin, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Madison Freedman also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Timber Creek Regional now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Deptford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Timber Creek Regional will be playing in front of their home fans against Overbrook at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Deptford, they will head out to square off against Pitman at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
