Baseball Recap: Greeley Central Wins Going Away Against Northridge

Greeley Central not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 21-1). They blew past the Northridge Grizzlies 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Angel Lopez-Meza made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Lopez-Meza was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Lopez-Meza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Partida, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Partida has become a key player for Greeley Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-18 otherwise. Another was Luis Perez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Greeley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-19. As for Northridge, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Greeley Central has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Severance on the 12th. Northridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
