Baseball Recap: Mt. Blue Has No Trouble Against Lawrence

Mt. Blue lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lawrence, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-2 victory on Wednesday. The match marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season.

Aiden Wilkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nolan Leso, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Gage Decarolis, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mt. Blue pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lawrence, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

As of now, neither Mt. Blue nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
