Baseball Recap: Mission Vista's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Mission Vista hadn't beaten Oceanside on the road since May 3, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. Mission Vista came out on top against Oceanside by a score of 6-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Mission Vista as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Santino Arvizu tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Mission Vista's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Newten Burnside, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another was Raymond Ochylski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-15. As for Oceanside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Mission Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against Oceanside: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
