Volleyball Recap: Maysville Comes Up Short

Maysville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the River View Black Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-12, 25-12.

River View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Alverson led the charge by getting five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Alverson a new career-high.

Maysville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for River View, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Maysville will head out on the road to square off against Licking Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for River View, they will head out to take on Philo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
