While it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, Animo Venice was not quite University's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Wildcats. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Among those leading the charge was Syrus Azarbarzin, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and six steals. Jonah Hansen was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Animo Venice's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for University, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Animo Venice will welcome Burton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Animo Venice is facing Burton at the right time seeing as Burton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
