Basketball Recap: Quartz Hill Piles Up the Points Against Whittier

Quartz Hill saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 90-52 win over the Whittier Cardinals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Quartz Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty'Jahwuan Jackson out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 19 boards. Jackson has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last 32 times he's played. Julian Henriquez was another key player, shooting 53% from the field on his way to 21 points and eight boards.

Quartz Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Quartz Hill now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Whittier, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Quartz Hill will take on Wilson in a tournament on Friday. The Royals will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Whittier, they will be taking part in a tournament against Sunny Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
