Baseball Game Preview: Irmo Yellow Jackets vs. White Knoll Timberwolves

Irmo hasn't had much luck against White Knoll recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Irmo will challenge White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Irmo's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Airport hitters got past them. Irmo lost 10-4 to Airport on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Yellow Jackets have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Irmo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Starling, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Starling a new career-high.

Meanwhile, White Knoll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Blythewood, falling 9-3.

White Knoll's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Irmo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Irmo took their win against White Knoll when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3. Does Irmo have another victory up their sleeve, or will White Knoll turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
