Basketball Recap: Seventy-First Falcons vs. South View Tigers
Seventy-First lost against South View back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Seventy-First Falcons took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South View Tigers.

Despite the loss, Seventy-First saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alani-Skye Wilkerson dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Wilkerson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Gully, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Seventy-First smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 42 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Jordynn Parnell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards for South View. Parnell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 20 games she's played. Danauje Brooks was another key player, putting up 21 points and four steals.
Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for South View, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4.
Seventy-First has already played their next contest, a 51-34 win against Purnell Swett on the 7th. As for South View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-44 victory against Gray's Creek on the 7th.
